  1. Blot, blot, blot

The longer red wine stays on your carpet, the harder it is to remove the stains. In those situations everything depends on your reaction timing. Make sure to blot up the spilled wine right away. Use a paper towel and place it on the spill. Blot gently until most of the liquid is soaked up. Remember, do not rub. Rubbing can only produce even bigger problems.
